Job Summary
The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport materials, equiment, and supplies to and from job sites. This role will support daily production by ensuring timely hauling of aggregates, dirt, debris, water, or equipment as needed. This role plays a key part in maintaining project schedules, supporting field teams, and upholding company safety and quality standards.

We are currently seeking a Class A CDL Driver to join our Douglas, WY team.
Job Summary
The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport materials, equiment, and supplies to and from job sites. This role will support daily production by ensuring timely hauling of aggregates, dirt, debris, water, or equipment as needed. This role plays a key part in maintaining project schedules, supporting field teams, and upholding company safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate CDL-class trucks such as dump trucks, belly dumps, end dumps, water trucks, and other fleet vehicles as assigned.
- Transport materials to and from construction sites safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
- Follow site-specific traffic control, speed limits, and dump/load procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and equipment operators regarding material needs and timing.
- Maintain clean and organized truck cab and bed, ensuring compliance with company and DOT standards.
- Assist with securing loads and ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Report equipment issues, hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly.
- Conduct and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned trucks and equipment.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training.
- Occasionally assist crews with basic labor tasks if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Safe and proficient operation of CDL trucks in a construction environment.
- Ability to maneuver trucks in tight, uneven, or congested job site conditions.
- Strong communication skills with field staff and dispatch.
- Ability to read jobsite signage, traffic control plans, and material tickets.
- Strong situational awareness and hazard recognition around heavy equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain professional conduct at all times.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of CDL driving experience, preferably in construction, aggregate hauling, or earthwork.
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving record meeting company insurance requirements.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Additional endorsements are preferred but not required.
- Must pass pre-employment and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing per company policy and DOT regulations.
- Ability to obtain PEC/SafeLand, First Aid/CPR, H2S, and MSHA, along with any other site specific training requirements.
Work Environment
- Primarily field-based; exposure to active construction sites
- Frequent exposure to loud noise, heavy equipment, dust, dirt, and weather extremes
- Work performed around uneven terrain, trenches, and excavation areas
- Vibrations from operating vehicles for extended periods
- PPE required including hard hat, high visibility vest, work boots, gloves, and safety glasses
Physical Demands
- Sitting for extended periods while driving.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and climbing into/out of trucks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally (e.g., tarps, hoses, tools).
- Good vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination required for safe operation.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, or inclement weather conditions for extended periods.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, typically 10–12-hour shifts, depending on project needs.
- Overtime, night shifts, and weekend work may be required to meet production and maintenance demands.
